10 Perfect Gaming Remakes That Easily Beat The Originals

4. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes

Some would argue that you should never change a classic but Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes proves that everything can be improved. The graphical improvements alone €“ thanks to the increased power of the Nintendo Gamecube €“ make the whole remake worthwhile but the game also utilises the engine from Metal Gear Solid 2 to add gameplay advances not seen in the original Solid Snake title; including first-person shooting. The AI of enemies was also improved, allowing them to communicate while hunting down Snake. These improvements might seem superfluous given the strength of the original PlayStation title (to be fair, they probably are) but they added extra depth to the gameplay and showed the improvements made during the series' progression. It's a shame that this version of Metal Gear Solid wasn't made available on the MGS HD Collection for the Xbox 360 and PS3; presumably licensing issues blocked it but it would still have been a great addition to the package. Regardless, The Twin Snakes is a great example of how to update a classic game with a new engine and improvements to gameplay, as well as a decent looking graphic overhaul. Plus, it features shootable Yoshi and Mario dolls with sound effects. What's not to love?

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
