10 Perfect Gaming Remakes That Easily Beat The Originals

3. Tomb Raider

It seems weird that Square Enix would reboot the Tomb Raider franchise when they did; the series had been slowly improving with the likes of Legend, Underworld and Anniversary after The Angel Of Darkness did so much damage to the franchise's name. Thankfully though, the brand spanking new Tomb Raider is probably better than anybody could have expected, taking the series back to unexplored roots and introducing us to a modern day action hero. That's right; the new, improved Lara Croft begins as a young, inexperienced scholar but slowly grows (thanks to circumstances) into a ruthless action heroine, fuelled by tragedy and desperation. The gameplay also saw massive improvements too; elements from cover-based shooters like Gears Of War were brought in and Lara's traditional twin pistols were replaced by a satisfyingly stealthy makeshift bow (although the twin pistols make an awesome return in the game's finale). The whole game feels like an exciting tribute to the series while also hinting at a glorious future for the franchise. It was also ported to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (with improvements to the graphics and physics of the game; Lara's hair has never looked so shiny), meaning there's no excuse for not having played this game.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
