2. Star Wars FTL
This is such a perfect fit that I genuinely cant believe it hasnt been done yet. If youve not played it, FTL is a very good indie title about a small group of loyalists who need to return to their commanders with vital information about the plans of the huge enemy force that threatens the galaxy. Sound familiar? Honestly, this would be amazing. Take the core concepts of FTL randomly generated events and progression; having the main goal of reaching the home base, whilst stopping at various planets and points of interest along the way; managing your weapons, ammo and ship damage; and trading for parts with natives and upgrading your ship components as a necessary means to survive. Then combine that with a Star Wars setting being able to recruit Jedi; bounty hunters and Dark Side users trying to capture or destroy you; meeting and piloting some of the most iconic spacecraft (the Falcon, X-wings, TIE Fighters and such), and being able to visit famous locations like Hoth and Dagobah. All this culminating in a final battle with the Death Star at the end of the run in order to survive the wrath of the Empire a titanic encounter by any stretch of the imagination. If that doesnt appeal to you, please go and play some FTL. Youll soon change your mind.
