10 Phenomenal 2017 Video Games You're Already Missing Out On

Grab it if you like: Rocket League, Windjammers.

Rocket League landed and took off like nothing else, so perfected was its physics model and level of accessibility-turned-mastery, it quickly became one of the best games of the generation.

Part of this was also down to being given away on PlayStation Plus, which is clearly what developers High Horse were attempting to emulate. Comprised of ex-Activision staff, High Horse are a body of people who clearly demonstrate how to combine a number of instantly-fun mechanics and visuals, presenting this altered take on Data East's beloved cult-classic, Windjammers.

Playing like the tennis games you probably grew up loving (but have just realised they don't make anymore) twinned with Tron's Disc Battle and a tinge of Pong made modern, you're tasked with pulling off a number of moves to get the electrified disc past your opponent, resulting in them ragdoll'ing across the screen as you dance in victory.

Games are fast and require lightning-fast reactions. There are specials, depth to your return shots, drop-shots, curves, feints, taunts and explosions - it's everything a growing gamer needs.
