Ancient art from paintings and pottery come to life in Apotheon, a heavy hitting 2D action game from developers Alientrap.
Perhaps the main selling point of the game is the art style, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. Set in ancient Greece, Apotheon looks just as if a piece of art from the time has come to life.
The story goes that Zeus and the other gods have abandoned civilization, leaving everything to kick off in their wake. People are fighting each other, everything is on fire, everyone's ran out of milk - it’s just generally quite unpleasant.
Our protagonist decides that they’ve had enough of all of it, and starts to make their way to - and subsequently ascend - Mount Olympus to personally give the Gods a good telling off, perhaps slaughtering them in the process.
