10 Players That Will Definitely Be Upgraded In NHL 18
8. Jack Eichel - Buffalo Sabres
The luck of the lottery may not have gifted them Connor McDavid as Buffalo had hoped, but they hit on the next best thing in the 2015 draft in the form of the prodigious Jack Eichel. In most other draft years, Eichel was talented enough to go first overall, and he’s duly proved his ability over the past two seasons.
He was highly unfortunate to miss the first quarter of his sophomore year due to a freak injury, but upon his return, Eichel immediately proved himself the best player on the Sabres finishing at almost a point per game with 61 total games played.
He may (or may not) have had a substantial role in the firing of Dan Bylsma, but luckily for him there’s no “diva” skill set in EA’s NHL games. Under the guidance of new coach Phil Housley, Eichel should continue to dominate for the Sabres, and after his second consecutive impressive year in which he matched his rookie season goal total despite playing just 61 games, he should see his stats boosted closer to 90 than the 86 rating he had in NHL 17.
