10 Pointless (Yet Awesome) Character Abilities In Video Games

6. Interacting With The Public - Spider-Man (PS4)

As an experience that lets you fully inhabit a comic book character, Insomniac’s Spider-Man is second-to-none. But you already know that, and are probably browsing endlessly through your folder of Raimi Trilogy memes to keep you going until the sequel comes out. It’s okay: we've all been there. But hey, at least we can still relive the magic, and today we're going to do that by highlighting the ingenious little way Insomniac made their version of New York feel lived in.

Spidey’s a photographer, and Insomniac gave players the chance to take selfies with different poses all over New York. Further to that, whenever you get tired of swinging through the city, players can jump down to the streets below and interact with your fellow New Yorkers.

You can high five them, wave, do finger guns and stop for photos - just like a real Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man would. Just make sure none of them are actually a thug ready to bump you off though. Nothing worse than posing for a selfie and being stabbed endlessly by a possessed man with a giant sword.

Born in Theatre, sits at a Computer. After over a decade of tinkering with Video Editing software, Rich gets to spend his precious time editing whatever's thrown at him. Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
