10 Potential Problems With Fallout 4

5. Playing House Isn't That Exciting

Going hand-in-hand with the crafting system of Fallout 4 is a new house-building mechanic. Shelters were present in the last couple of games, although the customisation of such was reasonably limited €“ which meant you didn't have much of a reason to hang around in that crummy Megaton shack full of bobbleheads. In fact, a large chunk of house-building was present in Bethesda's presentation, alongside the ability to customise your power armour. One of these is not like the other. Fallout is very much about exploring, traversing the huge open world, finding things. Not hunkering down in one place like you're playing The Sims. Like the crafting system, how much of a problem this is depends on how integral to Fallout 4 making a shelter is. If it's a neat little mini-game hey, who cares? If playing interior designer turns out to be a core mechanic in the new title, however, there's going to be a lot of people (rightfully) annoyed this isn't the game they signed up for.
