10 Potential Superhero Video Games (And Who Should Make Them)

5. The Punisher: Hangar 13

Despite receiving a relatively lukewarm reception when it released last year, we actually really enjoyed Mafia III, and I in particular believe that the team at Hangar 13 are some of the most talented in the biz. Given the time and resources, I could totally see them crafting some genuinely massive experiences down the line.

One of those experiences could totally be about Frank Castle, and even though I cannot stand The Punisher (sorry everyone), there's no denying that he's one heck of an interesting character to dissect. Much like Lincoln Clay - the standout protagonist of the third Mafia title - Frank is one killer (please excuse me) anti hero, one whose history is rooted in the experience of war and, much like Clay himself, the Vietnam War.

Most devs to tackle Daredevil's non-BFF would, imaginably, keep the modern day setting. And while there's nothing inherently wrong with that, it'd be far more interesting to take the character back to his roots and dump him in the crime-ridden vestiges of 1970s New York. Not only would this allow for an altogether different take on the Marvel Universe (complete with early interactions between all of NYC's street-level characters), it would enable 13 to really carve out their own version of the character. We've already seen them effectively research and bring to life a piece of America's past in Mafia, so it's not exactly something they're not accustomed to.

Give players enough to do whilst they're there, and 13's Punisher could easily become one of the best comic book titles ever. Honest.
