10 Problems That Stop Popular Video Game Companies Being Perfect

9. Take Two Are Obsessed With Microtransactions

Every big publisher these days adds microtransactions into their games, but Take Two Interactive seem more obsessed than others about making them the primary focus of their titles.

The company is pretty open about how it wants to push these in-game purchases too, admitting that they are 'under-monetizing on a per-user basis' and want customers to continue paying for a game long after they originally bought it.

This isn't a great line to take on its own, but it wouldn't have been so bad if the focus on microstransactions hadn't come at the expense of quality single-player content.

For instance when the popularity of Shark Cards in GTA V was realised, Rockstar's development focus quickly shifted to the multiplayer side of things. Consequently the single-player campaign for the game was left to languish, never receiving any of the expansions that Rockstar had hinted at before release.
