10 Problems With FIFA Games Die-Hard Fans Won't Admit
4. Momentum Shifting
One of the major talking points over the last few releases, the momentum shifts in game was implemented to an absurd level in order to maximise gamer retention. If you found yourself on a bit of a losing streak, you could always count on the momentum swinging your way and handing you victories eventually.
Momentum, also known as 'scripting', has been an extremely controversial topic within the FIFA community over the last few years. Compilations of this scripting being proven have been uploaded relentlessly across any and every social media and video platform to try and call EA out. Of course there are doubters that attempt to explain what happens in the videos using logic, but a conversation with an EA support rep seemed to quash any plausible deniability in the placement of the system by EA.
One fan of the franchise contacted EA's support window to enquire into a number of issues with FIFA 19, including the apparent momentum system, to which the rep all but confirmed the existence of scripting, something that EA had vehemently denied up to this point. EA moved to spin their own version of events, but the cat was out the bag, and now people have a legitimate excuse for when they lose.
