The arcade mode on Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a whole lot of fun, feeling fully like the kind of game you used to discover and die at a million times in your nearest real-life arcade.

At it's about as difficult - if less financially devastating to replay - meaning that reaching the five hundred thousand points needed for the High-Score Hero trophy. The reason this is so difficult is that to do so requires you to get perfect victories, which means you don't get hit even once in the fight.

But you only have seven potential fights, which would only equal three hundred and fifty thousand points - which still isn't enough to get the trophy.

And so, not only do you have to do seven perfect fights, you also have to carry out some impressive combos and counters as well, instead of just spam-hitting all of them into submission.

While the trophy from accomplishing all four hundred and eighty missions is rarer, it's a little easier to execute in theory given you just have to slog your way through increasingly difficult challenges.

Managing arcade mode shenanigans that would have made you a god to 90s kids, though? Truly iconic.
