10 Reasons Battlefield 5 Is Actually Great

3. Firestorm Is A Great Battle Royale

Ok, before we get shot down for such a hot take, hear us out. While Firestorm fell short of a lot of fans expectations and has predominantly been left to die with no real update to the mode in months, it is still an excellent rendition of the Battle Royale genre.

Not only does it bring the signature Battlefield action to the mode, it also applies a slower-paced and tension-filled gameplay loop that the main game is missing. The realistic and expansive map has you slowly working your way through abandoned buildings, and fearful for the distant sirens of enemy players cranking open bunkers full of powerful loot.

The modes inclusion of vehicles is well balanced to the point that tanks and prototype helicopters aren’t powerhouses, but things to be fearful of. Buildings are fragile to a rockets blast, meaning nowhere is truly safe, unlike an impenetrable house in Call of Duty's Blackout which allows players to wait out their opponents.

We haven’t even mentioned the most impressive version of the impending circle of doom, which in this incarnation takes the form of a destructive wall of fire. The vision impairment, roaring sound of the flames and buildings buckling under its immense power, make this the kind of circle you don’t want to catch up with you.

Soldiers can feel the heat on their back, with the tension wracking up a few notches as you run away from danger towards... even more danger.
