2. Incredible Maps
Regardless of whether you enjoy Battlefield or not, the collection of maps available in Battlefield V are quite simply and undeniably incredible. Whether it be the newly released thick jungle areas in Solomon Islands, the daunting beaches of Iwo Jima or the seaside town of Rotterdam, Battlefield V offers a wide range of excellent maps, each with their own distinct feel.
Often critiqued for the wide-open areas inviting large amounts of running before a quick headshot sets you back to base, the WW2-centric instalment manages to tackle this issue with copious amounts of cover and the inclusion of fortifications.
Although the beauty of the maps means snowstorms, gentle rain, and flower-filled fields provide great immersive elements to the maps, their layout allows for multiple tight-knit battles in various points throughout the map.
In Twisted Steel, you can splash your way through the marshy fields as machine gun fire wipe the area clean; all the while a brutal game of tug of war is taking place in the giant broken bridge dozens of feet above.
It is the kind of expansive warfare that can only be found in a Battlefield map – even the recently rebooted Modern Warfare has tried to imitate Battlefield’s brilliant map design in their larger Ground War mode.
