10 Reasons To Be Excited About Telltale's Game Of Thrones Video Game
5. Exploring Westeros
To be clear, I'm not talking about a free roaming Game of Thrones experience here. As awesome as that would be that's not how Telltale make their games. What I'm interested in is seeing areas we haven't seen before, or at least not as much. It's all well and good basing the whole thing in King's Landing but you'd never get a sense of the narrative scale that way. My simplistic character summary in the previous point could obviously be broken up into multiple characters in different locations, with slightly differing traits and roles. You could play as a lowly peasant before switching to a jousting knight or a member of the Small Council, there's three unique locations to create already. The show (like the books) is very focused on jumping from character to character to progress its story - I just hope that Telltale Games get the feel of this right and don't oversaturate the game with too many characters and settings. That's not saying I don't want a variety of locations to explore: I'd just prefer them to be fully-realised and tonally accurate. The world is a character of its own in Game of Thrones and deserves the same loving care that will no doubt be lavished on its inhabitants.
