10 Reasons Nintendo Have Us WORRIED
8. Will Nintendo Ever Announce A Switch 2?
The Switch OLED is great. Nintendo listened to criticisms: the OLED has more internal memory, a better kickstand, and a beautiful screen. Despite this, frustratingly, Joy-Con issues still plague the damn thing.
UK consumer group Which? surveyed almost 1,000 adult Switch owners and performed in-house wear-and-tear tests, with their results determining that two in five Switch Joy-Cons are affected by drift. However, Nintendo could (and should) rescue its reputation for reliability and simultaneously silence critics of the weaker Switch hardware versus PS5 and Xbox consoles by announcing their next hybrid system.
DLSS would be an absolute game-changer for Switch 2. Third party AAA title ports can flourish if Nintendo upgrades the power of the Switch using RTX tech, keeping their OLED screen and allowing good-quality upscaling for 1440p and 4k in docked mode.
We need details on backwards compatibility, battery life, and whether their Joy-Cons can last longer than a few years, but one thing is clear: Nintendo's current hardware is severely underpowered, and an upgrade feels more urgent with each passing year.
