For all the accomplishments of The Witcher 3, we have developer CD Projekt RED to thank. Without their passion, ambition, hard work, and consumer friendly policies, the game wouldnt be the achievement that it is. They are the reason The Witcher 3 is the best video game of 2015, and thus are the true MVPs of the year. Their ambition was equal only to their commitment to quality. Their ability to listen to player feedback and update accordingly, in a relatively timely manner no less, is unmatched and hasnt gone unnoticed. While every other developer is tied down to increasingly antagonistic business models, CD Projekt RED refuse to stoop to that level. They are committed to keeping DLC free and creating valuable post-launch content. And most importantly, they are always in open dialogue with their customers, keeping them informed of impending changes and thanking them for their support. CD Projekt RED is that rare game developer who seek to maintain a positive and open relationship with its consumer base, and that is rare to see these days. All this praise may come off as shameless fawning, but in an industry that is constantly at odds with its customers, its important to highlight the ones that do things right. Unsurprisingly, CD Projekt RED was rewarded for their loyalty with the massive success of The Witcher 3 this year, which demonstrates just how crucial it is to respect those who are willing to give you their money for your hard work, a lesson the industry needs to be reminded of. So thanks to CD Projekt RED for making the best game of the year, and for doing so without compromise. Here's to more great games in the future!
