9. The Soundtrack
Considering the Polish roots of The Witcher universe, it makes sense that the musical stylings of that culture would influence the soundtrack. Thanks to the collaboration of composers Marcin Przybyowicz and Mikolai Stroinski, as well as the folk music band Percival, the musical score of The Witcher 3 perfectly captures the essence and spirit of the game. The soundscape of The Witcher 3 is as diverse and atmospheric as the games environments and locations. While some themes are more traditionally heroic and epic, others are softer and more melancholic, reflective of the often times downbeat tone of the narrative. Then theres the contributions of Percival, which provides some of the more vocally wild compositions that effortlessly fuels your adrenaline during moments of combat. And despite this wide range of styles, its all presented as a cohesive whole that excellently compliments the material. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLSdl-CdOBo Furthermore, the soundtrack is highly enjoyable on its own separate from the game, a sure sign of the quality of any score. The composition here is just outstanding all around, and the result is award worthy music that is unique as it is warm and tonally familiar.
