10 Reasons To Be Excited For Pokémon Sun & Moon

4. The Island Challenge

The Island Challenge in Sun and Moon takes the place of gyms in previous games, and includes some exciting new challenges, aside from Pokemon battles.

You’ll have to find items, pass quizzes, and talk to a lot of different people. At the end of the trials you’ll face something called a Totem Pokemon, which is bigger and stronger than normal. It, apparently, has a cool aura enveloping it and can call other creatures to come fight with it.

Once you beat the Totem Pokemon, you’ll face the Kahuna - basically the leader of the island - and if you beat him/her you can move onto the next one.

The Island Challenge seems fun and educational, as it makes you think outside of the box. The gyms in previous games could get boring at times, as they only involved beating the gym leader and his/her lackeys - this is a great way to shake things up.

I like to think of myself as a world traveler and social butterfly, although I do spend a lot of my time watching the latest Japanese anime series, sitcoms, movies, and drama series. I live on the island of Crete, where I was born, and enjoy walking on the beach with my little cocker spaniel, Molly, when I'm not writing for WhatCulture.com and UNILAD.co.uk.
