From the Thievius Racconus to Thieves in Time, the Sly Cooper series has given us four incredibly creative and engaging games. But what about another instalment in this franchise?

Although it has not been announced that a fifth game is being created, developers have done a couple things to lead fans to believe that there will be a sequel. A cliffhanger ending of the fourth game, a new art direction, and the release of a new console all seem to be promising signs that we may be in for another game.

The first game was released in 2002, with two sequels following a few years later in 2004 and 2005 respectively. The fourth game then took time to be released, being announced in 2011 and being released in 2013. Since the previous sequel took almost a decade to come out, it is not unheard of for this series to take this long to develop a new game.

The prospect of a new game in this series is very exciting, and extremely probable. Here are just a few of the reasons why fans of the series deserve a raccoon reboot.

10. Creative Thief Game

Most stealth games that we see nowadays have a much older approach to them, featuring bloody kills and disturbing images. Having a game series that is less gory, and more playful, is definitely a refreshing sight to see.

It is an extremely creative series of games, introducing new mechanics in each and every installment. Utilizing Cooper ancestors to give Sly new abilities including sliding on lasers, spire jumping, and even invisibility was a clever way to incorporate a rich backstory into the fabric of the game itself.

On top of all of this, they create extremely lovable and relatable characters in each game, giving us the tragic plot line of Bentley as an example.

Not only do we feel bad for him for losing feeling in the lower part of his body at the end of the second game, but then he gets a girlfriend at the end of the third game who leaves him to become a villain. The player is forced to feel so badly for this fictional turtle's turmoil throughout a game that mostly remains fun and lighthearted.

A game series like this cannot be replicated, and is truly something special to behold.
