Size matters. While the old Playstation 3 earned its initial nickname 'The Bread Bin' through its preposterous proportions, Sony learned its lessons in the size stakes and offered a significantly slimmer version of the PS3 as well as a delightfully sleek console in the Playstation 4. Microsoft's offering, the Xbox One, rattled into life at a whopping 10% larger than its predecessor. Of course we all remember the Xbox 360's predilection for suddenly and irreparably giving up the ghost after a matter of weeks and Microsoft took the decision to make the Xbox One the size of a small Caribbean island in order to ensure that it didn't suffer the same problems. The Playstation on the other hand, features a sleek design and a compact power cable (the Xbox One still features that absurdly over-sized power brick) and is the perfect choice for anyone's TV unit.
