Six free games every month? Playable across a variety of platforms? And all cheaper than on Xbox Live? Yes, that's the offering from Sony which has seen them race into the lead when it comes to their online offering as well. While Xbox Live was long the Gold Standard for premium online content (mostly because online games were free to play on Playstation 3), Playstation Plus has come back to kick its butt. The games on offer from the Playstation Plus area of the store are often newer, they can often be played on multiple platforms (so those who haven't upgraded yet needn't worry) and there are more of them so there's more chance to snag something which you really like. Sony also gives a platform to Indie developers too, offering their games alongside AAA titles, boosting their visibility and turning often niche games into classics. Oh, it's cheaper too. Score one for Playstation.
