10 Reasons You Should Be Playing The Elder Scrolls Online

5. Satisfying Combat

One problem I've had with Skyrim is the weight of their combat system. It works and feels brilliant and fun, but when I smash a bandit over the head with a great big hammer, it would be nice if they didn't just keep firing their bow as if i just served them tea.

ESO does well on this front with a myriad of extra combat tweaks that add a level of engagement and depth to the combat. Being able to knock down your opponent if you combo the right attacks, being able to stagger their more powerful moves, or the fact that everything you can do to your opponent can be done to you in turn.

Not to mention that when your opponent dies, they fall to the ground in the direction that you hit them, instead of pulling a Skyrim and having them do a little dance before they fall over.

Seriously, it's a small thing, but you have no idea how big a difference having them 'die in the right direction' can make.

I like video games, writing and writing about video games. Expect sarcasm and the dry wit of a Brit. And the occasional rant of a unhappy Scot. You know... the usual.
