10 Reasons You Should Revisit Skyrim Before The ‘Anniversary Edition’

9. Making 150 Daggers At Once

Skyrim’s ‘the more you use it, the better you get’ skill progression was ground-breaking and new back in 2011, and even now the decade-old game still holds up. Of course, the system means that if you only ever fire a bow at your enemies, you’ll end up maxing out your Archery and finding it hard to level up any further.

And so you’re there, nearly at level 50, the greatest archer in the land, and nothing left to kill that will give you that little bit of experience you need. The solution? Buy up all the iron you can find and turn it into daggers.

Levelling up another skill is always a good way to gain XP, and due to some impressively nerdy maths skills it’s been discovered that, of all the weapons and armour you can make at the forge, the iron dagger gives the most XP for its cost.

That’s why the Dragonborn, Thane of Whiterun, Harbinger of the Companions and Arch-mage of the College of Winterhold is standing over a hot forge hammering out as many daggers as the shop will buy.

If you’re getting ready to start a new playthrough when the Anniversary Edition releases, but first you need to max out that old character you’ve played for years, then head to the forge, or into the wild, and level up those neglected skills.
