5. The Controls Are Tight & Responsive
Tight, precise controls are important in all video games, especially first-person shooters. It means all the difference between a good and bad shooter; clumsy and unintuitive controls will completely ruin an FPS. Given DICEs history with the Battlefield games, it was really no question that they would get the controls for Battlefront right, and they absolutely did. Shooting feels good, even though it differs in some significant ways from other shooters. Recoil is practically non-existence, and while some people might not like this, it makes sense for Star Wars. And despite feeling different, shooting is still both challenging and rewarding. Every time I pulled off a headshot from halfway across the map it felt earned. Cards are used to map special abilities and tech like grenades, shields, and ammo types, and using them is easy and effective. I cant tell you how many times I was saved by a well thrown grenade. In general the controls are easy to learn and master, allowing pretty much anyone to pick up and play. Battlefront is looking like a very solid Star Wars shooter, and there arent that many of those around these days.
