2. Revealing Albert's Infidelity (Dragon's Dogma 2)
Many entries on this list deal with big-scale tragedy and massive character implications. This one, however, is more rooted in the domestic, i.e. the corruption of a marriage. The thing is, while it begins small, it can end in bloody fashion.
Dragon's Dogma 2 has a quest in Vernworth known as "A Beggar's Tale" that starts simple enough. You're tasked with following a suspicious beggar, eventually discovering that he is leading a double life, with a wife in the slums named Celina and another in the Noble Quarter named Hilda. What a scumbag.
After uncovering this, you can reveal to him that you know his secret, or opt to tell Celina or Hilda about his treachery. Now, many of you will likely believe the righteous choice is to expose his infidelity to Celina, the first wife you meet. However, doing so will result in a tragic end to this quest. After some time, you will learn from a guard that Celina has killed Albert and herself in a horrifying display. It seems some transgressions are best kept secret.
