10 Ridiculous DLC Extras Video Games Expected You To Pay For
2. EVE Online - A Ridiculously Expensive Monocle
Extras in games such as EVE Online are not uncommon and honestly, not the most egregious example of DLC on the market.
After all, it's a constantly played, consistently growing community with a massive playerbase and equally massive scope in terms of things to do. So, you can grant it a bit of leeway.
That is, until you see how much one piece of eyewear costs.
A monocle. Not even a full pair of glasses, but enough to cover one eye, would cost you a whopping $70 (or equivalent).
In a game that focuses on the commerce of space combat and trading, this was insane. Somebody obviously wasn't wearing their vision-enhancing device when this must have passed inspection, I can tell you.
Surprisingly (or perhaps not), it's not the most expensive piece of DLC for the game. It's just the outlandishness of something so small having such a big price tag to it.
Worse still, look at it!
It's like the futuristic version of Batman's Penguin having the bottle rammed into his eye socket. Maybe if it shot ship-destroying lasers or something, but nope.
