10 Ridiculous Gaming Rumours That Were Total Lies

4. The PS4 Will Block Used Games

ps4-new-pic There was certainly a long time where this rumour seemed absolutely credible; in the lead-up to E3, the rumour mill was burning down with theories that both Microsoft and Sony would be blocking (or at least controlling) used games on their next-gen consoles, the Xbox One and the PS4. When Microsoft announced just such restrictions ahead of E3, the reception was almost universally negative, yet the expectation was that Sony would fall in line and at least ensure we were left p*ssed off with both major gaming companies near-equally. Of course, Sony took Microsoft to task in one of the greatest gaming smackdowns in the history of the convention, vowing not to include every infuriating feature that Microsoft were keen to (and have since reneged on). Thankfully, this rumour, which most of us believed, turned out to be baseless (though you can bet that Sony were considering it before Microsoft shot themselves in the foot so spectacularly).
