10 Most Ridiculous Quick Time Events In Gaming

3. Press X To Fight A Shark (Arkham City)

Ridiculous though the Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare quick time event is, as many pointed out when Activision were being (rightfully, if harshly) ridiculed online, Batman did it first. Rocksteady's series of Dark Knight games have gotten the character right as no other has done before, and they've managed to pen some pretty great stories too - with help from Bat expert Paul Dini - but there have been some clunky moments, like when you come across Crime Alley in Arkham City. Yep, the place Bruce Wayne's parents were shot, complete with chalk outline and blood splatter. And you can press X to pay your respects. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrTcTuJc-EM Each game has used quick time events to varying degrees of success, with the button mashing that accompanies the boss fights or use of grappling hook to lift heavy things down well to emulate how doing those actions probably feel. Not that you could ever know. You will likely never be Batman. Which also means you'll never enter a situation where you're faced with a great white shark coming at you on a raft, followed by an instruction to "press X to take down". Which he promptly does. Because he's Batman, and even a great white shark is no match for his made kung fu skills.
