10 Ridiculous Story Decisions That Ruined Great Video Games

6. Forced Love Story - Fahrenheit

Fahrenheit Fahrenheit is a generally fantastic game from the stable of Quantic Dream's ambitious brainchild, David Cage...at least for the first 2/3. The game builds a fascinating framework as protagonist Lucas Kane kills a man while possessed by a mysterious entity, and soon enough finds himself on the run from determined police officer Carla Valenti. However, things get rocky when the game tries to build a romantic relationship between the two, and categorically fails at convincing us. In mere minutes, the two go from people on opposite sides of the law, to reluctant allies, and then lovers, with a hamfisted sex scene thrown in for good measure, in which Carla professes her love for Lucas totally out of nowhere. The scene is relatively comical, and Quantic Dream claim that a rushed development window meant that much of the middle of the game had to be cut out, which would have better-assembled this love story. As it stands, it's pretty damn awful.
