10 Rumoured Video Games That Could Still Be Announced In 2016
2. Splinter Cell 7
Assassin's Creed isn't the only staple franchise Ubisoft have held back recently, Splinter Cell too has been all but absent from the company's release schedule.
This comes despite just how well the sixth game in the series, Blacklist, performed. It lacked franchise staple Michael Ironside, and his replacement was miss-cast beyond all comprehension, but it managed to reinvigorate the series in a way that appealed to both old fans and newcomers alike.
Bar that, the Tom Clancy license has failed to leave as big an impression since. Rainbow Six: Siege was completely unlike its promising E3 debut, and, sad to say, Ghost Recon: Wildlands' most recent showing didn't look all that good either. Considering Splinter Cell is yet to succumb to Ubi's now notorious track record, there could be a chance that the company cuts its losses and announces another entry before the year's over.
After all, fans are simply dying to know just how on earth Kestrel managed to survive the events of Conviction. Well, that and what age-defying moisturiser Sam Fisher applies to keep himself looking so young and virile while he's pushing his mid fifties, but I suppose that can go unanswered for now.
