7. More Multiplayer Changes; Returning To Halo's Roots
Although it's not immediately clear what is meant by "Next Generation Arena Multiplayer", displayed so prominently in the latest multiplayer trailer from Microsoft's E3 Media Briefing, it's probably an indication that 343 Industries are heading away from the more loadout based, asymmetrical map multiplayer showcased in Halo 4, back to a simpler time where all Spartans were created equal, and all maps were (more or less) symmetrical; leaving little in the way of situational advantage and leaving the outcome of a firefight down to the pure skill of the participants. Again 343 Industries design director Bradford Welch told TotalXbox that Arena means what youd expect,, Competitive focus, level playing field, map control. Add to that dedicated servers and a crisp new engine running at sixty frames a second on Xbox One and we could be looking down the barrel of the finest competitive Halo experience to date.
