3. Little Sisters - Bioshock

The final boss fight in Bioshock has Jack facing off against Fontaine, and having to drain ADAM from him four times before the end cut-scene kicks in. Jack is blown across the room and Fontaine approaches, but before he can do anything (presuming you got the "good" ending), the five Little Sisters will pile on Fontaine, draining the rest of his ADAM until he expires. In a short video sequence, we then see Jack making peace with the Little Sisters, riding to the surface, and giving them "the one thing that was stolen from them...a chance." We then see a series of mysterious clips of young women, presumably the older Little Sisters, being handed diplomas, getting married and having families. "What was your reward?", the narrator asks, as we then cut to a frail Jack about to die in hospital, surrounded by the five Little Sisters who all grasp his dying hand, as the narrator concludes, "a family." It may have only been about two minutes long, but in those moments, Bioshock delivered a surprising, unexpectedly emotional climax, and one that tied everything up perfectly.
