10 Scariest Horror Video Games You Might Have Missed
8. The Suffering
The Suffering found a fair bit of success when it was released. Unfortunately, due to the long passage of time, it has been relatively forgotten. Over the years its publisher, Midway Games, has gone bankrupt and other various setbacks meant that copies have become harder to find.
It told the story of Torque, a man on death row. He has been accused of murdering his family but has no recollection of the events that led to his arrest. When an earthquake hits, Torque makes the most of the chaos and attempts to escape but as he tries to make his bid for freedom, he discovers that something is wrong, and the prison is under siege by monstrous creatures.
It’s genuinely terrifying and the prison is a brilliantly original location. The monsters are unique and based on gruesome methods of execution. The plot will leave you questioning everything as you search for answers, and players can discover multiple endings depending on certain actions within the game.
The Suffering is one game that really needs a comeback because it needs to be experienced by all horror fans.
