This shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone familiar with swamps and the kind of nasties that live in them, but it did come as a shock to those who didn't expect it in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Up until that point in the story, Arthur's only real concern was not getting captured or killed whilst moving about with Dutch's gang. There was no real terror in being a deputy, or robbing trains, or teaching Jack to fish.

So when the time comes to procure a boat from a local fisherman, in the middle of the night no less, things start veering into horror territory.

Now, the fishermen do warn you about what's lurking in these here parts, but it's only when you see the giant alligator for yourself that the terror creeps in.

Now I know how Brody felt in Jaws when he said "You're gonna need a bigger boat".

It's a pretty horrifying moment in an otherwise rootin', tootin' tale of the old west, thus proving that alligators truly are a vicious creature to not tangle with unprepared.
