10 Scariest Villains Of The Decade (So Far)
2. Illtauga - Senua's Saga: Hellblade II
Many consider Hellblade II: Senua's Saga to be a letdown. However, despite the disappointment, the game still has a metric ton of praise-worthy elements, and the ghastly Illtauga is one of them.
Overcoming your demons can often feel like battling a giant, something this sequel takes to heart. Throughout Senua's (very brief) journey, you fight against colossal creatures that represent facets of trauma and grief. Illtauga is the first of these giants, and she makes one hell of an impression.
Her appearance is downright haunting, as her towering frame makes you feel tiny and powerless. Additionally, her human face is eerily uncanny, especially in her glaring eyes that appear to hold decades worth of pain. This aesthetic, combined with her unnatural movements that twist and contort her body in ways no humanoid should move, makes you feel like you're dealing with something that might slip into your nightmares.
Her story eventually becomes an intense tragedy as you learn about her human life under the name Ingunn. But, no matter how tragic her backstory is, it doesn't change how frightening she is.
