10 Secret NPCs Hidden In Video Games

8. The Invisible Woman Of Cornelia - Final Fantasy

The original release of the first Final Fantasy game features a literally invisible NPC you'd have to be incredibly lucky to stumble across organically.

In the town of Cornelia, there is a female NPC who, due to a bug in the game's code, doesn't have her sprite rendered on-screen.

Regardless, players are able to have a conversation with her, which would surely make anyone else in the vicinity think you're a bit loopy.

The glitch is apparently due to the way in which the game assigns visibility status to NPCs inside and outside of rooms, with the incorrect value evidently being applied to this one.

Upon release players were nevertheless able to see what the NPC looked like - namely, that she was indeed a woman - by using a Game Genie to walk through walls.

However, subsequent re-releases opted to remedy the issue by removing her entirely and giving her dialogue to another character. That's one way to do it.
