10 Secret Video Game Locations Hardly ANYBODY Found
4. Halo 2 - The Scarab Gun on Metropolis
The original killer app for Microsoft's Xbox, Bungie's Halo trilogy claimed rockstar status throughout the gaming community; much of its fanfare extended to the developer's own fan service.
Before they were more fleshed out in Halo 3, it was the skulls that compelled players to search through the levels, earning gameplay modifiers to replay the campaign. Yet there was one more secret that only a handful of players could find in Halo 2.
In the level Metropolis, Master Chief is tailing the Scarab in New Mombassa; you'll proceed into a tunnel, normally with either a Warthog or Scorpion tank. However, there are also Banshees tailing you for a bit; hijacking one and somehow flying it through to the other side was a process in frustrating trial and error.
Once in the next section of the level, persistent players were able to fly the banshee up to the top of the city to find an unassuming plasma rifle hovering on its own. As it turns out, Bungie had included the Scarab's cannon for the player to use.
It was placed in an area barely anyone would be able to reach; yet it was discovered by a small handful of players mere weeks after the game's launch in 2004.
