1. Yoshi’s Secret Abilities - Super Mario World

Super Mario World Ending

As one of the most famous sidekicks in gaming, Mario’s best reptile mate is an indispensable companion to Mario in a tonne of the plumber’s adventures. In Super Mario World, Yoshi has a suite of unique abilities, many of which are due to the fact that he can do different things based on his colour.

Each Yoshi has its own special ability, particularly when coupled with a Koopa Troopa shell.

Blue Yoshi can fly and any coloured Yoshi with a blue shell can also fly, Red Yoshi with a green shell can breathe fire like a regular little dragon and any coloured Yoshi with a red shell can also breathe fire. Yellow Yoshi with a green shell gets super powerful stomps capable of taking out any enemies sharing his platform while any coloured Yoshi with a yellow shell can also execute this move. No matter the colour he’s sporting, there’s likely a fancy new ability you’ll wanna take advantage of.
