10 Seemingly Pointless Video Game Choices That Have Surprising Consequences
2. Turn Your Friends Into Leaders - Medieval Dynasty
Medieval Dynasty is a survival game in which you build your very own village straight from the Dark Ages.
Aside from managing your settlement, the game features a large collection of side quests. Most of these offer minor rewards, like additional resources and improving your reputation with the king, but other than that, there don't seem to be any long-lasting consequences for choosing to do them.
Until you discover them, at least.
Although the game doesn't tell you this, each settlement in the region features one special quest that helps you build trust with an important resident. This doesn't come up until several years later, when the castellan of the main city of Piastovia goes missing and you're entrusted with finding a new leader.
Depending on who you helped years prior, you will have more options of possible candidates from all the friends you've made in the past.
The options come up only if you helped the right people early in the story, so if you don't want to miss out on having a special leader that you're on very good terms with, you'd better do your quests as soon as they appear.
It might just mean paying less taxes for your settlement!
