10 Sega Mega Drive Games You Forgot You Loved

7. Mickey Mania: The Timeless Adventures Of Mickey Mouse

If there's one thing that the Mega Drive did right, it was Disney games. Mickey Mania is a perfect example of the quality of Disney games from this era. With bright, vivid graphics and a lot of charm, this 2D platforming sidescroller travels through Mickey Mouse's long and varied career in a series of excellently-designed stages. It all starts with a completely greyscale adventure through Mickey's earliest adventures in Steamboat Willie. From there, you'll go through the Mad Scientist's castle, go moose hunting, climb up giant beanstalks, fight ghosts and much more, using Mickey's limited moveset to jump, throw things and generally avoid a nasty death. Like a lot of games from the era, Mickey Mania is extremely tricky. You only have a limited supply of marbles as an attack (which can be replenished on each level as you go along) and some sections require some very precisely-timed jumps to avoid deadly obstacles. Consider it a highly impressive achievement if you managed to beat this one back in the day. Be sure to also check out Mickey's other adventures, Castle of Illusion and World of Illusion.
