10 Settings Assassin's Creed Could Go To Next
8. The Mayan Empire

The Mayan Empire was a vibrant cultural civilisation that existed between the preclassic period in 2000 BC to the beginning of Spanish conquest in 1511. It was an incredibly diverse and wide-ranging culture, and as such, Ubisoft would have plenty of scope to explore either archaic civilisations or a slightly more middle-age historical period.
The individual locations that made up the Maya civilisation were confined to Mesoamerica, which was a historical region encompassing Mexico, El Salvador and many other countries. This would be an entirely new visual and physical setting for the franchise, and it would come with challenges and new opportunities for creativity.
The Assassin could fit perfectly into this period, and the weaponry of the time could lead to an entirely different approach to how players can assassinate their targets.
This is a period not often depicted in gaming, or any medium for that matter, but it is rich and diverse, and as such, Ubisoft could take full advantage of it.
