10 Shocking Incidents Where Video Games Led To Real Life Death

10. A Man's Infant Children Drowned While He Played His Game Boy

Now we did say it was going to be shocking, and starting out with this harrowing story of a father who chose not to watch over his two infants and instead indulge in something like Pokemon is exactly the kind of horror you can expect going forward. Back in 2005, Gregg J. Kleinmark ended up with 10 years in prison when he was sentenced to 'two counts of involuntary manslaughter'. Many online reports state that although Kleinmark has since admitted much guilt and remorse over his actions, the specifics of the incident were that whilst they were playing in the bath, he left the room for around 30 minutes to play his Game Boy Advance, and sadly the children drowned themselves. Whilst not a case of a game instilling a negative reactionary response, it's important to point out the addictive nature of some titles and the level of respect we must have for them. The idea of delving into a handheld title for a few minutes is often an enticing one, yet here it had devastating consequences for all involved.
