10 Shocking Times Older Wrestling Games Did Graphics Better

Games: WCW Backstage Assault (left) and WCW Mayhem (right).

Time Between Release: One year.

Oh, oh God. That is f*cking horrible to look at. It's like WCW icon and recent WWE Hall Of Famer Bill Goldberg has been in a car accident on the left. Fittingly, a car crash is exactly what EA's follow-up attempt on the totally fine Mayhem was when they unleashed Backstage Assault on the world in 2000.

It's worth experiencing just to see how badly wrong pro wrestling video games can go.

Mayhem's models weren't hi-res, but they were passable attempts considering the PSOne's hardware. Somehow, EA's skills got worse 12 months later when they all shared a crate of Scotch and rushed their way through another WCW release. Goldberg from Assault is a jagged, broken mess of pixels and developer contempt.
