Time Between Release: Two years.

Somehow, even Goldberg's model looks better than country-biker-meets-Willie-Nelson lookalike Hulk Hogan did in WCW Backstage Assault. There was literally nothing to tell players that they'd picked Hogan aside from a name plate above his energy bar. That was it. The thing bears no passing resemblance to one of wrestling's biggest stars at all.

Two years earlier, AKI were smashing it on the N64 with WCW/nWo Revenge, a game that (whilst hardly pretty) did a much better job of replicating WCW's roster. There, Hogan exuded Hollywood cool, had some of his nWo gear on and didn't look like someone had stretched a sock over their thumb.

Backstage Assault may be the worst "wrestling game" ever.
