10 Shocking Video Game Finales NOBODY Understands

1. Inside

Inside Game

Possibly the first ending on this list that I’d personally assign a feeling of “What the hell is happening” to, we’ve got inside.

From the team that made Limbo, you’d expect Inside to be fascinating, dark, and more than a little creeptastic. You probably weren’t expecting to play as an amorphous shrieking blob, though. At least I wasn’t.

I’m not saying I didn’t like it, I actually thought it was a fantastic ending, but I wouldn’t have bet on it in a million years.

With a little--okay a lot--of investigation, players determined that the little boy you’ve been playing as the whole game is actually mind-controlled by The Huddle, the aforementioned amorphous blob which ultimately absorbed the boy into its fleshy, limby mass and becomes your new player character.

Whether or not you worked that out, spending the last ten minutes of this grim dystopian adventure rolling around as a flesh ball, absorbing scientists, and ultimately resting out in the sun was batshit crazy and, honestly, fantastic.
