10 Signs You Love Video Games More Than People

8. You Bought An Xbox One For The Kinect€And Forced Your Family To Deal With It

The Xbox One is NOT the seamless media device it was promised to be, and once installed in the living room of a house with other people, the frustration grows exponentially as your non-gaming family members parse out the difference between €œXbox On€ and €œXbox Turn Off€, get freaked out every time their hand is recognised by the Kinect, and grow more irked as they learn to sign into a console that encourages controller-free navigation. Eventually they get the hang of it because humans have phenomenal capacity when they have no other choice, and begrudgingly many have learned to appreciate the various "Xbox Pause" and "Xbox Play" features. But your reputation is certainly sullied with every misheard voice command and every time the Xbox One doesn't quite sync up to the cable box properly. Still, you wanted this bad boy, and you knew, knew, that if your family just gave it a chance, they'd grow to appreciate the next-gen Xbox, whether they liked it or not. And they will, or already did. Of course, whether or not they still like you after this ordeal is an entirely different story, but the odds are if you're the sort of gamer who bought an Xbox One day one and installed it on the biggest TV in the house against their wishes (or without their knowledge), you really don't care what they think now, do you?
