10 Specific Reasons To Get Hyped For 2016's Biggest Games

8. Melee Executions Straight Out Of Mortal Kombat - Doom

Next, from the creators that brought the first-person shooter genre into gaming, comes the true reboot that the Doom franchise needs. Returning back to the roots of great gunplay mixed with terrifying enemy designs and locations, Doom seems to be going back to what made us fall in love with it in the first place. Mix that in with some good old fashioned blood and violence, then we've got a FPS we can ALL get behind. The game promises blood and gore in 60 frames per second. A multitude of options in the ways you can dispatch your foes, including a familiar-looking weapon wheel that includes a pulse rifle, two different kinds of shotguns, a rocket launcher, and a couple other options as well. This weaponry is mixed with melee combat executions that look like they're straight out of Mortal Kombat, using your bare hands to dismember demons in ways only those with a strong stomach will truly appreciate. Doom promises to be a worthy addition to your gaming library as the developers have added online multiplayer, but the main attraction being the 13 hour single-player campaign. No regenerating health, only dropped med packs from enemy corpses can keep you going, along with an arsenal that guarantees plenty of blood and gore with every enemy encounter. The BFG is out there, ready for you to come take it. You've just got to go through Hell to get it.
