10 Story-Based Shooters That Were Better Than BioShock Infinite

6. Portal 2

Portal 2 potato Ok, so Valve continue to surpass even their own titles without relying on former glory, and there was no mention of cake being a lie anywhere in this brain-liquefying sequel to 2007's Portal. I know what else you're thinking too, this isn't a "shooter". But consider this; you have a "gun" that fires when you pull the "trigger", and there are numerous robotic "enemies" that "shoot" you with "bullets" if you don't dispatch them first. So it's basically Medal of Honor. In truth, whatever you call it, Portal 2 was a masterclass in videogame storytelling. It packed more snappy dialogue, intelligent level design and layered story into its campaign than most shooters do in their entire life-cycle. It even used the transformation of the dominant female antagonist into a potato as a savage metaphorical indictment on the formulaic nature of gaming. Did Infinite do that? No, it did not.
