10 Strongest Non-Boss Enemies In The Legend Of Zelda Franchise

6. Wallmaster

You haven’t known true fear until the shadow of a Wallmaster looming over you. A longtime Zelda foe, the Wallmaster debuted in the original game, and the sheer fear factor made them a must for future instalments in the series.

The horror of the Wallmaster is a masterpiece of aesthetic design. It scuttles along the ceiling, with ominous sounds rising as it finds its target. By the time it positions itself above Link, it may be too late. It drops monstrously and grabs the hero, adding insult to injury by dropping you off at the very start of the dungeon.

The Wallmaster is so terrifying that, by Ocarina Of Time, the designers decided to give the player a heads-up when they enter a room containing one. Navi the fairy will immediately become alarmed, telling Link to be on his toes - it’s enough to make you want to leave the way you came in right away.

They’re not so tough to kill, but they’re fast and flighty, and worst of all they regenerate quickly. Physically they’re not the most powerful foe, but in terms of psychological damage, there’s nothing worse.
